- Call the Social Security Administration's (SSA) toll free number, 800-772-1213. While this is the easiest way to make an application, it is also the least efficient.
- You can go in person to the closest SSA district office and file an application for benefits. This is a more difficult and time consuming, but you will get the forms and someone from SSA to help you with them.
- The third and final option is to file online through the SSA website. If you choose to proceed with this option, we can walk you through the process, either over the phone or at our office. This option is efficient and can save you the burden of a trip to the Social Security office.
